ABOUT ME
Born and raised in England, I am now an expat living in Toronto. I am captivated by Rothko art, prose by Murakami and Gaiman, textural electronica and contemporary architecture. I am also enlightened and inspired by off the beaten path travels.
I have a natural affinity towards the analytical, and relish research of any kind. My professional interests include new scientific discovery, innovative design, and technology that changes lives and our perception of what is possible.
I have worked both agency and in-house, including international PR agency, Weber Shandwick, and in the corporate PR teams for Apple, Sony and Shopify. Working in an agency taught me the fundamentals for a successful PR practice, from grassroots pitching to strategic planning and client relationships.
I have garnered many lessons from each of the organizations I have worked with. These have taught me alternative ways at looking at the same problems or challenges - from organizational structure, growth, to strategy development and execution.
Career highlights include the launch of the first generation iPhone in the UK, launching Windows Vista with Bill Gates and working with Sony’s Kaz Hirai.
My experience includes seeing the product-launch executional mastery of Apple, the operational excellence of Sony, and the scrappy decision-making startup culture at Shopify.
Most recently I worked at Auvik, a cloud-based network management Canadian scale-up, where I oversaw communications strategy when Auvik secured a $250-million investment from Great Hill Partners, a growth-focused private-equity firm. Currently, I work at GoFundMe in Canada, building relationships with politicians, organizations, and non-profits. Importantly, my role allows me to leverage technology to help people and make a difference to someone's life.
I have worked internationally across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. I even had a spell as a realtor to learn something completely new and go outside my comfort zone.
I am passionate about working with companies and teams who are intentionally impactful and follow a collective north star, who allow calculated risk to grow, and foster a culture where anyone can bring ideas to the table.
Above all, what drives me is telling the story of building products that help shape a better tomorrow.
